While you can charge an EV using a standard plug, using this as a backup option is recommended rather than your primary charging method.
Charging your EV using a conventional connector is slow. It strains the electric circuit because it operates near its 3kW maximum for an extended time. A 40kW battery, for example, will take almost 17 hours to fully charge, whilst a 64kW car will take about 28 hours to charge from empty to full.
